Airbnb and PANTONE have joined up to create a one-of-a-kind nature-filled space that brings the outdoors, inside. Inspired by the Pantone’s 2017 Colour of the Year, Greenery, the Outside In house in the heart of London, is designed to encourage visitors to embrace 2017 with fresh optimism.
From January 27-30, a home in London underwent a stunning metamorphosis, being transformed into an indoor-outdoor oasis. The space features an impressive woodland reception, an indoor greenhouse that doubles as a dining room, and a garden bedroom with a freshly cut lawn. There are trees, plants, a tented cubby-hole for children to sleep in and even a herb garden kitchen.
“It’s hard to think of a more fitting colour for 2017 than Greenery, a colour that symbolizes new beginnings, growth and vitality,” said James McClure, General Manager of Northern Europe, Airbnb. “Teaming this with Trips, which was introduced to make travel magical by immersing travellers in communities around the world and encouraging them to try something new, provides the perfect boost to this otherwise dreary time of year.”
As guests cross the earthy threshold, they were greeted by the house groundskeeper with fresh and healthy green juice; made locally and colour-matched to PANTONE 15-0343 Greenery. Visitors could also join in on a number of nature-inspired experiences. Some of them including terrarium making, Tai Chi classes, wallpaper painting and more.
After it was over, wherever possible, all materials used for this green space were recycled; all of the spare plants were also donated to community gardens. Let us know you’re thoughts on this one-of-a-kind green space.
