Have a blooming marshmallow in your next hot chocolate

French pastry chef Dominique Ansel, who is famous for inventing Cronuts, has just invented your next dessert obsession. He’s developed a marshmallow that blooms into a flower when dropped in hot chocolate.

A thin marshmallow, shaped like a flower, is bunched inside a white chocolate cup to resemble a closed flower bud. When placed in a cup of hot cocoa, the chocolate melts, causing the marshmallow to expand. As it blossoms it reveals a marshmallow flower, complete with a chocolate truffle in the middle. This creative blooming marshmallow is perfect for the holiday season.

These gorgeous flowering sweets are available at his bakeries in New York, Tokyo, and London. If you can get ahold of one, do it while it’s hot. In the meantime you can visit Dominique’s Instagram page.
