Plant this eco-friendly tree book to regrow a tree

A small book publisher in Argentina is offering a book that can grow back into a tree after you’re done reading it.

Pequeno Editor teamed with ad agency FCB Beunos Aires to educate children on where books come from. The project, called Tree Book Tree, uses acid-free paper impregnated with Jacaranda seeds, a species of flowering tree native to Central and South America. The book is then printed with biodegradable ink. When planted, the book will eventually germinate from the pages and grow up into a tree.

The book is titled Mi Papá Estuvo en la Selva or My Dad was in the Jungle, by Gusti Llimpi and Anne Decis. And according to the publisher’s website, it’s based on a true story told from the point of view of a young boy from the Ecuadorian jungle.

About the Tree Book Tree project

This really cool project is both educational and ecological and part of a growing trend. Wouldn’t it be nice if all books were created like this? Take a look at these old books that are turned into 3D landscapes.
