Dolce & Gabbana launches their own designer pasta

If you’re into all things designer, Dolce & Gabbana are marking the holiday season with designer pasta. The Italian fashion house has teamed up with family-run pasta brand Pastificio Di Martino to release a limited edition set of festive pasta tins.

While the noodles are pure Pasta Di Martino, the packaging is designed by the storied fashion house. The elegant tins of designer pasta are priced at US$110; so you can forget your presumptions about spaghetti being an economically-friendly staple food.

When it comes to choosing your designer pasta, you can select from a wide-range of classic Italian pastas; some of which you might not have even heard of. There’s spaghetti, penne mezzani rigate, paccheri and mista corta. No matter which pasta variation you prefer, it also comes with a special Dolce & Gabbana apron, adorned with the colours and symbols of Italy.

Only 5,000 of the tins will be available worldwide; fewer than 1,000 of those will be available in the North America. Dolce & Gabbana’s domestic offerings don’t just stop at pasta either, the fashion house launched a high-end range of small kitchen appliances earlier this year in collaboration with Smeg. That’s right, you can also get your hands on a designer toaster, kettle, blender and slow juicer.

However, if you’re interested in the designer pasta, you can purchase it from select stores in New York or via Dolce & Gabbana’s microsite.
