Every brand video ever, in one sweeping parody

In an age when a company’s brand image is seemingly more important than its products, using stock footage to describe a company has become the new norm. While you it’s not feasible to film every aspect of a video, stock footage has its uses. However, it does take away from the impact your brand might have when people recognize that it is generic footage.

Stock footage company Dissolve has taken the concept of companies using too many snippets and created the following parody video. This fake brand video highlight reel is designed to emotionally connect consumers to a giant corporation.

“The minute we saw Kendra Eash’s brilliant [idea], we knew it was our moral imperative to make that generic brand video. No surprise, we had all the footage.”

This is a Generic Brand Video

Creating a generic brand video with the footage it sells is an odd move a company that aims to change the perception of stock footage. Regardless of motive, Dissolve’s video is entertaining, and has definitely been successful.

Now check out how an agency took stock photos to show what life on the job is really like.
