The Backroom Agency
Niagara-on-the-Lake is home to world-renowned wineries, five-star hotels and inns, shops and restaurants. The client was looking for a new way to generate revenue and attract visitors. Although they produce a visitor’s guide annually, we came up with the idea of creating their own digital publication featuring the town’s stores, food, wineries and attractions. Based off of their “Experience the Niagara-on-the-Lake Effect” campaign, the title ‘Effect Magazine’ was born. Using a thin, modern font and an award ribbon, came the publications logo design.
Every few months, I would source images, write or edit articles, and layout the spreads for each publication. I was head writer and art director for five issues until I left the Backroom Agency.
