Tiny detailed illustrations that can fit on the tip of a pencil

Do you enjoy doodling or sketch out your thoughts? If so, then you’ll want to check out this wonderful series of tiny drawings from studio 1924‘s illustrator and designer Christian Watson. What’s amazing about Christian’s artwork is how small they are. In fact, they’re so small that they can fit on the tip of a pencil — literally.

Christian also loves photography. He posts images to Instagram multiple times a day — pictures that showcase his cross-country adventures. His tiny illustrations mimic these rustic adventures that are found in his photographic works — pulling in lighthouses, cabins, and animals. Combining this love of photography with his tiny detailed illustrations, he composes images that seem to teeter on the tip of his pencils or crawl to the top of his fingers.

Despite their small size, these illustrations are incredibly detailed. His micro-illustrations, often only measuring a couple of centimetres in length,  are placed under the hashtag #PencilTopDrawings on Instagram. You can check out more of his work there or take a look at a few more of my top picks below.
