Humans seem to have a morbid fascination with death—and with that, ways of killing people. Have you ever thought about murder? If so, how would you do it and what would you use?

While you’re thinking about that, take a look at Murder Weapons, a project by photographer Ed James. He photographed a series of 10 images; each depicts an unusual item that someone has used to commit murder.

“I wanted each item to be unusually lit and out of context to mirror the way that the killers used them.”
