What not to say to a photographer

Bing a photographer is a complicated and sometimes challenging job, requiring talent and knowledge. But that doesn’t stop some people from treating them like free photo dispensers.

That was the inspiration for Italian graphic designer Luca Masini, who previously created a poster series of things you shouldn’t say to a designer. Whether you work for an agency or you’re a freelancer, you’re bound to come into contact with some frustrating clients. So for this series, Luca created a list of the most annoying and irritating phrases that photographers hate to hear.

Created in collaboration with Picame magazine, anyone who’s ever tried to earn a living from professional photography will wince in horror at some of these irritatingly common comments and requests.

What not to say:

What not to say to a photographer: "With that camera I can take good pictures too!" What not to say to a photographer: "Come on, it's just a couple of shots" What not to say to a photographer: "Make me look good, got it" What not to say to a photographer: "Nice picture. Can you take another the same as this?" What not to say to a photographer: "Can you remove your watermark?" What not to say to a photographer: "Can I print it from Facebook?" What not to say to a photographer: "Shoot me for free and I'll promote you" What not to say to a photographer: "Your work is easy. You just have to press a button" What not to say to a photographer: "Can you make me thinner?" What not to say to a photographer: "You're going to adjust me with Photoshop later, right?"

If you can relate with these posters, share some of the top irritating comments you hear. You can also check out sarcastic posters on what it’s like to be a photographer.
