Gigantic mirrored letters that reflect their surroundings

San Francisco Design Week is the Bay Area’s largest design event, bringing together thousands of people across every discipline of design for a week of events, talks, and open-studios. As part of their Look Closer campaign, branding and design agency Character has created a series of gigantic mirrored letters.

Created to demonstrate the all-encompassing influence of design their amazing series of handmade structures are built from wood and mirrors.

The large mirrored letters spell out the initials of the celebrated design week, SFDW. They were then placed in diverse, strategic parts of the city to represent how design can be found everywhere. Each of these installations appear to recede into their environments, but on a closer look, they give a glimpse into their intricate frameworks.

There’s a thoughtful process and structure behind almost everything if you look close enough, and Character wanted to create imagery to reflect that. Take a look at some of the amazing structures below, and click here to find more.
