Be a hosting star with bacon chocolate shot glasses

New blogger Natasha of Through the Eyes of My Belly was originally looking for a way to share and store her recipes so they would be around forever. When a friend suggested blogging, Natasha was a little hesitant. But with her first post she’s introduced us to bacon chocolate shot glasses.

Now I’ve previously posted how to make peppermint shot glasses, as well as toasted marshmallow shot glasses; but who doesn’t love bacon, chocolate and alcohol. Her blog post features step-by-step instructions for readers to follow and make their own bacon chocolate shot glasses. The bacon is baked on a mould so that it turns crispy and retains it shape as a shot glass.

Step 1

Cut up the core of a roll of paper towels into about 3″ sections and rolled them up with tinfoil.

Step 2

Wrap the rolls with the bacon, cutting a few slices into 4″ pieces to be used as the bottom in an ‘x’ pattern. Natasha suggest using think cut bacon to keep it from crumbling if slightly over-cooked. Take a slice of bacon and wrap the tinfoil mould from bottom to top, making sure there aren’t any large gaps. Once the bacon is wrapped around the mould, tie it off at the top with a piece of twine.

Step 3

Place the bacon moulds upside down on a wire rack and bake at 375 for 20-30 minutes, or until the bacon looks slightly crispy. Remove them from the oven and let them cool for 10 minutes.

To remove the bacon from the mould, lightly squeeze around the mould to free it. Grab around the bacon with one hand, while pulling the tinfoil mold out.

Step 4

Melt some chocolate in a double boiler. With a spoon, scoop some melted chocolate into the bacon cups and smooth around the inside walls, making sure to cover any small holes. Chill the bacon & chocolate molds in the fridge for no less than 1 hour and their ready to get filled with your choice of alcohol.
