Photos that poke fun at silly United States laws

In the United States, there are both federal and state laws; each of the 50 states are allowed to formulate and implement their own laws. Some of these laws are rarely implemented and are even considered weird, controversial and obnoxious. While some are outlandish and could rarely be broken nonchalantly by the average citizen. And some laws refer to behaviour so commonplace that many could be breaking the law without even noticing.

You won’t believe some of the silly and stupid laws that still exist in the United States. That’s what Manhattan-based photographer Olivia Locher thought when he decided to create this humorous photography series. He pokes fun at silly laws from states from Kansas to Tennessee and Maine, Utah, Rhode Island, and Oregon.

A lot of these laws will leave you scratching your head. In fact, did you know that it’s against the law to have sex with a corpse in Illinois or be able to sell your eyeballs in Texas?
