Clever ads use optical illusions to encourage pet adoption
Pet adoption is a wonderful thing. Ask any pet owner, and they’ll probably tell you that their furry friend has made their family feel complete. Photographer Amol Jadhav along with art director Pranav Bhide took that concept and transformed a brilliant idea into striking ads that are more than meets the eye.
The creative pet adoption ads employ a brilliant use of lighting, which forms an animal version of the famous optical illusion known as Rubin’s vase.
The campaign, which supports World For All Animal Care and Adoptions in Mumbai, features three separate posters using the same visual effect; a silhouetted family of two or three people who lovingly looking at one another. The negative space between them is carefully arranged to form the outline of an animal. The prints bear the tagline “There’s always room for more. Adopt.” Thus, the image is only complete once you see the dog, cat, or rabbit that emerges from in between the smiling figures.
World For All is an animal welfare organization that has revolutionized the model of stray animal adoptions. Since its founding in 2009, they’ve homed over 7500 stray animals, and attended to over 10,000 emergency medical aid calls.
