Every year the UK’s Association of Illustrators (AOI) brings together their World Illustration Awards. Now in its 40th year, the winners for the 2017 awards have been announced. The World Illustration Awards showcase 50 shortlisted projects across eight different categories. The exhibition will be held at Somerset House from July 31 to August 28.
This year’s winning entries were selected by a panel of international judges from all aspects of the industry including commissioners, publishers and artists. In the end, a total of 15 victors were awarded in advertising, books, children’s books, design, editorial, research, self-initiated and site-specific.
The top entries were selected from more than 2,300 submissions from 64 countries. World Illustration Awards winners include a characterful portrait of Bill Murray for the Washington Post and a complex digital illustrations for the Apple Pencil campaign.
