It’s become clear that Instagram influencers are trying to come up with creative ways to make income. Belle Delphine, a British social media model and NSFW cosplayer, has decided to make use of her 3.9 million followers to sell them her own bathwater.
Surprisingly, the 19-year-old’s strategy is working. She posted two photos last week and said she was selling her bathwater to any “THIRSTY gamer boys” out there. Belle has already sold 500 jars of what is termed “gamer girl bathwater” at US$30 a pop. However, she made it clear in the product description that the bathwater is not for drinking, and only for “sentimental purposes.”
The cosplay star has become famous for her NSFW content, where she wears very little clothing and makes ahegao facial expressions, sometimes used in Japanese anime and manga pornography. In June, she made headlines when she told her followers she would make an account on PornHub if her photo received over 1 million likes. But instead of anything sexual, she posted bizarre videos of herself stroking stuffed toy cockerels and eating a picture of PewDiePie.
Belle is amused by her marketing plan, but in the last few days responses have been overwhelming with all 500 bottles of her bathwater being sold out. She told Metro.co.uk that she first thought of the idea because of a running joke in the gaming community where gamers would comment, “Let me drink your bathwater.” Belle’s creative marketing has also received odd requests from fans to add some extras to the bath mix.
“I have had a bunch of odd requests, some have asked me to spit in the water, pee in it and requested the water to come off my body and drip into the bottle from… certain areas. Honestly with the kind of messages that I get daily these requests don’t weird me out anymore.”
While some people were clearly into the idea, others said that anyone who bought bathwater for $30 was “sad” and “pathetic.” Even Pornhub commented on her bathwater, cheekily asking how much her toenails cost. What are your thoughts on this
