Handcrafted beach jewellery made from sand and resin
Using sand and resin, German designer Britta Boeckmann captures the beauty of Australia’s ocean landscapes and creates stunning beach jewellery. Carefully handcrafted using real beach sand and blue resin, each piece from her Aqua Collection looks like a tiny, wearable beach that wearers can take with them wherever they go.
Britta’s love of creating began as a child, when her father owned a hardware store. With access to plenty of tools and materials, she began exploring her ideas. Soon, her passion grew into a career in Industrial Design. After completing an internship with a British jewellery design company, she became fascinated by the many possibilities of wearable accessories and hasn’t looked back since.
In 2013, Britta moved to Australia and joined a local woodworking group. There she began learning the techniques that would lead to her creating nature-inspired beach jewellery. Her pieces are made using bonded beach sand, ultramarine blue resin, and metal pigments. Combined, they make each beautiful, handcrafted design of beach jewellery unique. It was her creative eye and a keen sense of designing that enabled her to combine these elements that pay homage to Australia’s stunning shorelines.
Britta’s beautiful sand and resin beach jewellery is a tiny shoreline that you can wear wherever you go. Each purchase from the Aqua Collection will help provide one year of safe water to one person in need, through the support of Water.org, an international nonprofit organization.
