Oktoberfest, originally a Bavarian event, is now celebrated the world over; being loved for its endless flow of German beer, traditional food, and all-around good times. So, if you’re looking for the perfect shoes to match your lederhosen at Oktoberfest, Adidas has the pair for you.
The German footwear giant has unveiled the München Made In Germany: a pair of limited edition sneakers that feature a special DPBR (durable puke and beer repellent) coating. Because what could be wurst than somebody kotzen (“puking”) or spilling their zwei-liter stiefel (“two litre beer boot”) on your shoes?
Not only do the sneakers protect your feet, but they’re also a festive accessory. The shoes boast a red and white micro-check inner lining to match the festival tablecloths. Prost (“cheers”) is embroidered in gold on the sides, and the shoes also feature decorative stitching. The shoes retail at $200US.
The 184th Munich Oktoberfest will take place from September 16 until October 3. An earlier start date was developed over time due to better weather than that of late October. This year’s festival will feature 143 food and drink businesses, 151 carnies and 251 vendors. The festival grounds will span over 85 acres and six new rides will debut this year.
