Do you remember when you were a kid, and everyday in December leading to Christmas you’d open up your Advent calendar to get a treat? Now that you’re all grown up you can relive that joy and anticipation – with Advent calendars for adults!
While the kids have their Kinder, Playmobil and Lego Advent calendars — among many other options — it seems big people want their treats too. Adult Advent calendars can be found in liquor and specialty stores, online, and on do-it-yourself websites. And they’re angling for a bigger piece of the Advent market.
For the fourth year in a row, the Craft BeerAdvent® Calendar is one of the best pre-Christmas gift any beer lover can receive. Whether received as a gift, or more likely for yourself, whoever has one will no doubt be subject to great envy and jealousy. The 2015 Edition features 24 different craft beers from coast to coast across both Canada and the United States. This year, the Canada-made calendar is available in liquor stores in seven provinces and territories. If you can find one, it’ll set you back around $150CDN. On the cheaper end of the scale, Costco in Canada also stocks a 2015 beer advent calendar that sells for about $90CDN.
Of the 24 beers featured in the Calendar this year, most of the craft beers have been made specifically for the Craft BeerAdvent Calendar and are not available anywhere else in the world.
If your tastes are a bit more refined, the Scotch Whiskey Advent Calendar is available across Alberta and Saskatchewan for about $400CDN. Or go online and find the Whisky Advent Calendar, which contains 24 wax sealed sample drams of top quality whiskies from top distilleries in Scotland and around the world behind its glorious windows. Christmas countdowns don’t get much better than this!
As in past years, the release is expected to sell out quickly, so consumers in these regions are encouraged to contact their local retailer to inquire about reserving a package.
