Wallets have pretty much remained the same; a pocket for your bills and a small buttoned space for your coins. But if you’ve ever struggled to keep change neatly inside their wallet, you’ll understand why this design team from Singapore came up with KIN.
No matter how organized a wallet can be, it always ends up a mess of coins, bills, receipts and miscellaneous items. Designed by Cheryl, Ai Ling and Li Xue, KIN is a functional wallet that eradicates the problem by conveniently separating the bills and coins for you. The user simply puts bills and coins into the top fold, and the coins are automatically transferred into a pocket on the side.
“Within KIN’s wallet is a really simple, but smart mechanism that helps to prevents coins from sliding out. The inner mechanism is crafted and sewn in a manner preventing the back-flow of coins.”
Within 40 hours of its launch on Kickstarter, KIN was already 1000% funded. The KIN wallet is also water resistant and comes in four different colours: burnt sienna; olive green; ultramarine; meteorite grey. KIN Studio aims to ship the wallet out to backers by July 2017.
