BK misses the deadline, so they ask fans to complete it

Deadlines are a source of worry and stress for many designers. They can cause us to rush and miss the little things in our creations. And while it’s not easy rolling out a refined project when you’re pressed for time, Burger King Belgium didn’t even hide the fact that it had a deadline it couldn’t meet. The fast-food chain recently published an unfinished ad, calling upon fans to make improvements on it.

Sometimes things are out of our control and we can’t always meet our deadlines. BK Belgium claims all its efforts were focused on making its €4,95 King deal as affordable as possible, leaving nothing for advertising. That’s where creative agency Buzzman came up with the idea to post an “incomplete” project.

The end result of the ad appears to be a screenshot of unfinished work. Apparently, there wasn’t even time to click out of the product photos and text box, let alone export the file. BK Belgium, however, acknowledges the importance of an impactful graphic. Therefore, they’ve shared its folder of design files, including its Block Berthold fonts, so fans can complete the ad.

Do you believe you can design a more striking advert? I’m sure that you can — and in exchange for your help, you at least get a free typeface. Don’t worry, though, there’s no deadline.
