How to help avoid a hangover
Ask any expert, and they’ll tell you that the best way to avoid a hangover is to lay off the booze. Or just stay drunk, your call. To fend off the nausea, headache, dizziness, and general misery that often follows an intense night of drinking, check out this infographic from Fix.
Fix has consolidated a list of useful methods to help you cure or reduce your hangover symptoms. These tips include hangover cures from around the world, symptom reliefs and dehydration prevention. For instance, Italians cure hangover by drinking espresso, while the Russians drink pickle juice.
I figured that this would be a good Monday post. Especially since most people tend to experience the dreadful morning hangover after a night of overindulgence. Take a look at the infographic below.
Here’s a few hangover tips for the morning after:
- Experts agree on one thing. And that is it’s just plain stupid to booze it up the morning after heavy drinking. It only delays the inevitable and makes it that much worse.
- Order the eggs. Eggs are an awesome source of cysteine, which helps break down a headache-causing toxin produced when your body digests alcohol. Go with a plain poached egg or dry omelet, which won’t upset your stomach as much as greasy bacon.
- Avoid herbal teas. Researchers found that herbal teas make your body process alcohol more slowly, so your hangover lasts extra long.
