The most Instagrammed destinations in North America

From beautifully prepared food to inspirational sunsets, travellers are passionate about documenting the world around them using Instagram. But have you ever wondered which are the most Instagrammed destinations?

If you have, then Busbud has come up with an interesting infographic for you. It shows the most photogenic beaches, parks, landmarks, and more from all across Canada and the US.

By searching the type of location and name of the most popular destinations on TripAdvisor, the team at Busbud looked at which destinations produced the most hashtags per Instagram posts. They were then ranked for every state, province and territory. The results show a simple but engaging list of must-see Instagrammed destinations across North America. Check out the infographics for Canada and the US below:

In a country that feels like it was created specifically for the adventurous type, Canada’s top Instagrammed destinations are almost exclusively associated with outdoor activities.

The list of most Instagrammed spots in each US state doesn’t lack diversity. Destinations to satisfy virtually every interest exist–from sports arenas to theme parks, race tracks to universities. However, despite the diversity of landscape offered from the United States, when it comes to popular photo apps, the list is pretty predictable: in New York, it’s the Empire State Building and in California, Disneyland.

If you’re planning your next road trip, now you know what places other photo enthusiasts have frequented. And let’s be honest—these places are popular for a reason. But if travel and Instagram are your bread and butter, maybe you should take a job as an Instagram Butler.
