BMW shows us real helmet hair in humorous ads
You can buy a sweet new motorcycle and you can purchase stylish gear to go with it; but there isn’t much that can save you from the epidemic known as helmet hair.
It may seem extreme to modify your haircut simply because you ride a motorcycle. However, any hairstyle that uses compression actually helps make it helmet-friendly; those involving lots of gel or spiked parts most certainly will not. Have a Mohawk? Plan on doing your hair once you get to work. Swept-back bangs in a Mad Men style? No problem, just make sure your hair is tucked in place when you pull your helmet down.
Taking helmet hair to the next level, BMW Motorrad has created a series of humorous ads to advertise their Motorrad Helmets. Sporting helmet hair designed to resemble a specific helmet style, these tongue-in-cheek profile posters take a light-hearted strategy to an epidemic many riders face.
Created with the help of advertising agency Publicis Mexico, each poster sports a unique helmet hair-style: the lady in the series sports the Legend style features a bob with a short fringe and a braid under her chin, referencing the helmet it was named after. The first man open-face helmet has a retro look, a chin strap with double-D buckle, and an optional peak to enhance the style. Finally, the Race style features a man with a quiff and a beard that match the shape of its helmet namesake. This full-face helmet, designed for sport riders and race-circuit use, has a visor with a large field of vision. Take a look at the ads below:
